General Cavi SpA has been active in Lavezzola since 1958 in the production and marketing of electrical cables for civil and industrial construction, automation, renewable energy systems and medium voltage, with a range that covers the Italian market, the harmonised one, the international one and medium voltage. The site is flanked by the satellite site unicavi.com, the digital showcase of the affiliate G.Ecol.Cables S.r.l. of Lugo, a producer specialising in cables for signalling, control, telecommunications and special applications, present with its own brand since 2010 and as an OEM producer since 1994. Both sites are developed and managed with RediGo, goNet's proprietary CMS written entirely by hand in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and they share the same technical infrastructure, the same updates and the same operational coherence, reflecting the commercial relationship between the two companies.
What distinguishes these projects from a standard solution is the management of the technical catalogue, which would be impossible to replicate with a traditional site. RediGo processes the technical data of each product and automatically generates the technical data sheet in PDF format, ready to be downloaded directly from the specific page. This means that any update to the data, a change to the specifications, a new certification, a variation in cross-section, is immediately reflected on the data sheet without the need to intervene manually on the document. The catalogue is navigable on several levels: by type of cable, by field of use and by reference standard, allowing the professional user to find the right product through the search path that is most natural to them.
At the top of both homepages the price of copper for the Italian market appears in real time, a critical figure for the operators in the sector who consult it daily to guide their purchasing decisions. General Cavi also includes a video section dedicated to products and company, a centralised download area for catalogues and regulatory documentation, and an integrated connection with Cables Project, a tool developed by goNet that filters and suggests the General Cavi cables compatible with a specific project in compliance with the regulations in force, closing the circle from product discovery to technical selection. The site also displays the Sustainability Report, a sign of the company's positioning on issues of environmental and social responsibility.
The data structure of both sites is designed to be manageable: new products, standards and configurations are added without impacting the general architecture, with the same flexibility on the visual and on the editorial level. Two sites with distinct identities, built on the same foundations, that function as a unitary ecosystem.
